Rupert Huber

Musical Director, Composition, Piano / Live Electronics  |  Vienna

He integrates space and the electronic and/or psychological projection of musical or tonal content into his compositions. Such dimensional music that Rupert Huber has developed as a musical format is the basis of all his work. Compositions of this format has been commissioned by, among others, Wiener Festwochen (Private Exile, 2004), Centre Pompidou (Sonic Process, 2002) and Ars Electronica (Radiotopia, 2002). Rupert Huber has not only implemented his ideas artistically; he has also applied them to music composed for film (Food Design, Berggasse 19), TV (C.S.I. Miami, Sex and the City) and radio (signations for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation - ORF).

Richard Dorfmeister

In the world of electronic music, Richard Dorfmeister has left countless traces. Since the mid 1990s, the Vienna born artist, flute player, producer and DJ has released classic tracks and remixes with his co-partner Peter Kruder as Kruder and Dorfmeister. Records by Kruder and Dorfmeister such as the "G-Stoned EP" (on their own G-Stone Label, 1994), as well as the seminal "DJ Kicks" mix-compilation for !K7 (1996), and the "K & D Sessions" remix compilation (1998) are considered timeless masterpieces. Both "DJ Kicks" and the "K & D Sessions" have been bestsellers with each having sold more than one million copies. On the musical side, the magic Kruder and Dorfmeister sound has not faded since.

Maria Petrova

Born in Plovdiv (Bulgaria), started with classical piano at the age of 4 at a local music school. At 14 she was accepted as a student of Prof. Ivan Enev, where she learned drumset for 4 years. After moving to Austria at the age of 18 she continued at the "Gustav Mahler Conservatory of Music" in Vienna with jazz drums and percussion, where she has graduated 'summa cum laude'. After that she continued at the "University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna", where she studied music education and popular music on drums, percussion and piano.

Being an extremely versatile musician allows her to perform continuously with a wide range of artists, and as a permanent member of numerous exciting projects such as e.g. Wiener Tschuschenkapelle, Madame Baheux (winner of the Austrian Music Awards 2014), Pianodrum, Rondo Vienna, Ensemble Flamenca Academia, Katrin Weber Trio, Ensemble Roya, Steve Nick Band, Sedaye Zanan, Loukia Agapiu Band.

Dominik Grünbühel

Performance, Choreography, Co-dramaturgy  |  Vienna

He studied in Vienna and in London at the London Contemporary Dance School – The Place. Since 2001 he has been working as a freelance dancer and performer in Vienna alongside Cie. Smafu, Radek Hewelt, Patrice Chéreau, Katharina Weinhuber, Association LISA, Tanz*Hotel, Homunculus, Markus Kupferblum, Sabile Rasiti, Luke Baio and Charlotta Ruth, amongst others. During the past years he has been concentrating on his own works. Together with Michael Bruckner-Weinhuber he created the video score for the program "Rückgratlose Heldinnen". With his solo program "I am the Mockingbird" Dominik toured Estonia, Hungary and Sweden. His pilot film "twice upon a time", which was made in collaboration with Charlotta Ruth, was shown in Oslo, Stockholm and Vienna. He studied Digital Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

Additionally, he is the bassist, MC and founding member of the band Nifty's. The band received the Austrian World Music Award in 2006 and was named Ö1 Artist of the Year in 2007. Releases: "Takeshi Express", Extraplatte 2007 (EX 695-2) and "Naftularasa", cracked anegg records 2009 (CRACK 09200932).

Kònic thtr is a Barcelona based artistic platform focusing on contemporary creation at the border between art and new technologies. Its main center of activity is the application of interactive technology to artistic projects. Kònic thtr is internationally renowned for the use and incorporation of interactive technology in creative projects. Their work has been shown in Spain, Europe, America, Asia and Africa. Through the research processes undertaken by Kònic thtr since the early 1990s, the company has developed a unique and personal language in this field of contemporary creation.

Kòniclab is the frame for the development of research lines and artistic experimentation linked with technologies that will be applied to interactive stage and audiovisual installations projects. Since 2009, Kònic has been actively developing networked performances, involving high definition Internet, dancers and musicians across the globe (e-pormundos afeto 2009, EVD58 2013, APAN 2014).

Rosa Sánchez & Alain Baumann are leading the conceptual, creative and technological developments in Kònic (thtr & lab). Both have an extensive knowledge and experience of working with new technologies applied to performance, dance, installation and theatre.

Victoria Macarte

Victoria Macarte studied theatre and dance in the renowned Rose Bruford and Laban schools in London. In 2010 she travelled to New York for further training with the SITI Company and took part at the Watermill summer residency program, directed by the world famous theatre director Robert Wilson. Victoria has collaborated with the Catalan collective Apatches and in 2012 she has started her own project, The Velvet Sweatshop. She is a regular collaborator of Kònic thtr since 2012.

Antye Greie-Ripatti (aka AGF)

Antye Greie-Ripatti is a vocalist, digital songwriter, producer, performer, e-poet, calligrapher, digital media artist and recently practicing curator and educator.

She is known for artistic exploration of digital technology through the deconstruction of language and communication. Her poetry, which she converts into electronic music, calligraphy and digital media, has been presented on records, live performances and sound installations in museums, auditoriums, theaters, concert halls and clubs in Europe, America and Asia.

Other projects include the German electronic duo Laub, The Lappetites, AGF/DELAY (with Vladislav Delay), THE DOLLS (Vladislav Delay and Craig Armstrong) and Zavoloka/AGF; collaborations with Craig Armstrong, Ellen Allien, Gudrun Gut, Eliane Radigue, Kaffe Matthews, Rupert Huber, TBA aka Natalie Beridze.

In 2004 she won an Award of Distinction at the 2004 Ars Electronica Festival. AGF was on the cover of the XLR8TR in 2004 and Cover of the Wire magazine UK 2006.

Chris Eckman

Eckman is best known for his fundamental contributions (songwriter, vocalist, guitar player) as a member of the acclaimed American band, The Walkabouts. Over the last 25 years, The Walkabouts released nearly 20 albums on labels such as Glitterhouse, Virgin and Sub Pop. They have also toured extensively in Europe and the United States.

Collaborators and guest musicians have included: Brian Eno, Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Warren Ellis (Nick Cave/Dirty Three), Tindersticks, Mark Lanegan and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra.

Chris has also produced over 30 albums for other artists including: Tamikrest (Mali), Midnight Choir (Norway), Aziza Brahim (Western Sahara/Spain), Bassekou Kouyate (Mali), Steve Wynn (USA), Andrea Schroeder (Germany) and Vlado Kreslin (Slovenia). In 2014, Aziza Brahim's Eckman-produced album "Soutak" was the #1 Album of the Year on the World Music Charts Europe.

Eckman's production work in West Africa led to the formation of his global music label, Glitterbeat Records. Glitterbeat won the prestigious WOMEX "Best Label Award" in 2014.

Gesangsfabrik

Due to the fact that the music school Judenburg wants to stimulate the choir scene of the region, the amateur choir "Gesangsfabrik" exists since September 2013. About 50 hobby singers were forming themselves to one of the biggest choirs of the district, to pursue their passion of singing. They are singing everything from up and down their broad scale such as pieces from the "Real Group" or gospels from the "Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers". Since the choir performs as an association, they broaden up their repertoire to a variety of pieces from pop, rock and gospels.

The choir is led by Joanne Kocher (a teacher of voice training and popular singing at the local music school) and consists of members from all kinds of backgrounds and of all ages and professions.

Brian Losch

Making recordings for Sony Masterworks, EMI, Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, and The Metropolitan Opera, Brian has production credits which span multiple genres and include artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Chris Thile, Stuart Duncan, Anne-Sophie Mutter, and the New York Philharmonic.

As an engineer, he has worked on film scores for The American Boychoir and ESPN Films, broadcasts for Metropolitan Opera HD, San Francisco Ballet, and the New York Philharmonic with guests including Tony Bennett, Celine Dion, and Andrea Bocelli.

Brian has received a Grammy Award (Best Engineered Album, Classical) for Winter Morning Walks, two Grammy Certificates of Participation (Best Folk Album and Best Engineered Album, Nonclassical) for his work on The Goat Rodeo Sessions, a Certificate of Participation for work on Steven Mackey's Grammy award-winning Lonely Motel, and Downbeat Awards for his studio and live recordings. As an engineer, Brian has worked on a variety of respected music productions and continues to do so in New York City.
